Kuaishou's video unit is now worth more than Kuaishou itself.
The spin-off Kling AI showed a video model on Monday that makes single shots up to 30 seconds long. Investors valued the unit near $18 billion in July, above the parent company's $17 billion. A light version is in closed testing, and the full model arrives in October.
Why it mattersThirty seconds is long enough for a finished advert, so the buyer stops being a hobbyist. The money is now following the video models rather than the companies that own them.
